In the Gospel passage, our Lord Jesus Christ tells His disciples which extends to us all who believe in Him, that we need to have faith in Him, and believe. Faith which is a gift from God the Father, which reveals to us that Jesus Christ is indeed the Messiah and Son of God came down from heaven and born of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Lord of Angelic Hosts, who took on human flesh to save us all from our sins and from the fruit of sin which is death. To defend the faith, known as the art of apologetics, depends on Scripture, Catechesis and Theological Doctrine, all this is based on Scripture and Traditions of the Church guided by the Holy Spirit. Remember that in our daily lives, we need to witness to the Incarnation, Ministry, Passion and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We cannot do it alone, that is why the Lord Jesus Christ and God the Father have provided us with the Holy Spirit. The Church is guided by the Holy Spirit through the Magisterium, which is the Blessed Apostles and their successors the Pope, Bishops and Cardinals, and the Church is also guided by the Holy Bible and the Catechism and Sacraments, all given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ and handed down through the ages from the time of the Apostles and Martyrs till today.
We may currently be living in the digital information age, but in Salvation History which spans the time of Creation till now, we are living in the age of the Lord. Think of the Patriarchs, Prophets, Apostles, Martyrs and Saints of old, we all share the same faith that God gave to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. For remember that our Lord Jesus Christ and even the Apostles remind us in the New Testament that God the Father still treasures His Covenant and friendship with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the Prophets and Patriarchs of the Old Testament. For not one detail or stroke of the Law or of Scripture must be omitted, but none of us can fulfil them in the manner that the Lord intended them to be on our own merits, for we all depend on the merits and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God our Father and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we find in the Church.
The world and all creation is awaiting the revelation of the sons of God, as we await the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, on a day we do not know when will come, let us continue to keep the faith given to us by God, and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, and may the Blessed Virgin Mary, all the Saints and Angels continue to intercede with us, for the conversion, repentance, healing, sanctification and renewal of all humanity and creation. Amen.
