It is Fall

The leaves come tumbling, tumbling, tumbling

They fall in various and in different ways

My eyes are open to watch

What a show they give

Some go straight down

Plunging headlong

Too late to save themselves

The journey is definite

Some go in pirouettes

Rather like graceful ballerinas

So happily do they dance

All ready for what awaits them

There are others making giddy spins

So uncertain, yet whatever can they do

They fall, they fall, surely they fall

Yet others float around

Almost uncertain and certainly not ready

But plunge they must for the summon is clear

And so I sit and watch these leaves

Bamboo leaves so small and light

Now brown and dried up

Such a show they make before my eyes

All timed to say goodbye

Praise the Lord!
