The Solemnity of Jesus Christ, King of the Universe

Rest, I need sleep and some personal time away from school and assignments. I am down to the last and a half week of school before lessons officially end and exam preparation begins. Then it’s back to wearing green again before the Christmas holidays begin. So much work, yet I try to find time for Jesus which is important in preparing for such trying days ahead.

In the light of the looming Advent season and also terrorism threats around the world, I decided to come up with a prayer to Jesus our King, Father and Saviour.

Dear Jesus,

You are the King of the universe, yet the world needs you more than ever. The recent acts of terror around the world indicate the destructive force of evil and the signal of an impending war. Yet in all the darkness that has seeped into the hearts of men, let us not forget you.

You have loved the world so much that you sent us here on a special mission which is to show mankind and point your creation in the right direction which is peace, love and hope. Through your ministry and passion, you have shown that by repentance and mercy, the world still can be saved.

The gospel teaches us to listen to your voice, “For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice”(John 18:33B-37). You speak to each one of us in our moments of suffering and joy; help us to always listen to your voice, to always do good and to pass this good onto others so they may do good for the communities to which they belong.

Please pray for the world leaders to address the root of the problem such as where the terrorist groups get all their funding and that these leaders do more to tackle the threat before it becomes an unstoppable crisis.

Also, please continue to pray for the people of the world that they do not fall into the trap of sin but continue to carry their crosses till they reach the everlasting kingdom which you have prepared. We are all in transit in this earthly life as nothing is permanent but you alone.

In preparation for Advent, may we continue to give the spirit of joy and hope to others who are struggling to experience joy and peace in their hearts. Help us to look beyond the veil of materialism and to give and receive without expectations.

May we continue to surrender our lives to you, Jesus. Amen.

Your loving Sons and Daughters

Prayer to St Michael by Pope Leo XIII

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,by the power of God,cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

God Bless as we continue to journey and remind each other to choose good and follow the right path towards Jesus!
