Isaiah 11:4 – 5 “He will judge the weak with integrity and give fair sentence for the humblest in the land. He will strike the country with the rod of his mouth and with the breath of his lips bring death to the wicked. Uprightness will be the belt around his waist, and constancy the belt about his hips.”
Isaiah 33:22 “For Yahweh is our judge, Yahweh our lawgiver, Yahweh is our king and our Saviour.”
Exodus 3:2 “The angel of Yahweh appeared to him in a flame blazing from the middle of a bush. Moses looked; there was the bush blazing, but the bush was not being burnt up.”
Exodus 24:12 “Yahweh said to Moses, ‘Come up to me on the mountain. Stay there, and I will give you the stone tablets — the law and the commandment — which I have written for their instruction.’”
Jeremiah 23:5 – 8 “Look, the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when I shall raise an upright Branch for David; he will reign as king and be wise, doing what is just and upright in the country. In his days Judah will triumph and Israel live in safety. And this is the name he will be called, ‘Yahweh-is-our-Saving-Justice.’ ” ‘So, look, the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when people will no longer say, “As Yahweh lives who brought the Israelites out of Egypt,” but, “As Yahweh lives who led back and brought home the offspring of the House of Israel from the land of the north and all the countries to which he had driven them, to live on their own soil.” ‘”
Romans 10:5 – 9 “Moses writes of the saving justice that comes by the Law and says that whoever complies with it will find life in it. But the saving justice of faith says this: Do not think in your heart, ‘Who will go up to heaven?’ — that is to bring Christ down; or ‘Who will go down to the depths?’ — that is to bring Christ back from the dead. What does it say, then? The word is very near to you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, that is, the word of faith, the faith which we preach, that if you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and if you believe with your heart that God raised him from the dead, then you will be saved.”
Philippians 4:4 – 5 “Always be joyful, then, in the Lord; I repeat, be joyful. Let your good sense be obvious to everybody. The Lord is near.”
Dear brethren and friends, today we reflect on the title of our Lord Jesus Christ as the Lord, meaning that He is One with God the Father. For the Catholic Christian Faith, we believe that there is only One God, and that He is the Holy Trinity – One God, Three Divine Persons – One in Being, God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit. This is what the Lord God revealed to us the Church through the Apostolic teachings.
O Come, O Come, now Lord of might,
Who to your tribes on Sinai’s height
In ancient times you gave the law,
In cloud, and majesty, and awe.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to you, O Israel!
