The earth loves you

Know this – the earth

loves you. Feel how

she pulls you, tumbling

down into her cherry-dark

pomegranate-rich scent

of soil ozone-steeped

to lie next her heartbeat

while lallang grasses

scratch your cheek

and entangle in your hair,

and the wind rushes

to find you

wherever you are, wailing

your name through cracks

between building, open windows,

journeying across the sea,

still salt-scented, perfume-laden,

to caress your face

and yes, even the sun

bends down to see herself

shining from your eyes

and the sky longs to fill

the empty spaces in you,

if you let him,

you who who die from lack

and burn to love something,

anything.
